Croatia's ancient walled city of Dubrovnik kicked off our Western Balkans journey through seven countries across the former Yugoslavia and beyond. Dubrovnik was a perfectly easily place in which to be a tourist.

Zagreb and Split were two Croatian stops on our marathon railway journey across Europe on the Inter-rail. From the Croatian capital in the north west to the Adriatic coastal gem of Split in the country's south, Croatia was beautiful.
